Wow, I think tomorrow is going to be a powerful day for sermons. I just heard two really good ones.
In the first sermon the Shepherd “leader,” delivered a powerful sermon as he was sort of giving a ‘synopsis’ on the state of the charismatic churches for these last forty years or so.
I think many of the Gen ZZZZ’s or whatever they are called now will have a better understanding of why the church is as so strong as it is today.

You know, a few months ago, I was writing on the “working of the Holy Spirit” in the modern church. Well, I got to mentioning the Baptist Church and pointed out three main leaders. Part of my criticism was that I stated that many Baptists have Calvinistic beliefs and don’t believe in a second encounter with Christ as John Wesley did.

Well, so I was shocked to hear this Baptist leader preaching on the Holy Ghost and to see how receptive the congregation had been.
Furthermore, it was as if the atmosphere changed in the church as well. I mean, there were a few moments when I was a little tired, yet when I opened my eyes, I found myself looking at a group of elderly ladies who had just come from a “Pie Baking” contest singing as if there were no tomorrow.
You see, in my mind I was imagining a group of young charismatic women jumping up and down on the stage, yet none had pogo sticks?
They just liked to jump up and down, I guess?
Anyway, as I stated I was shocked because for something like fifty years most Baptist sermons were what I have always called “Do Gooder,” sermons.
These are sermons where the preachers just preach what they expect the “Christians” to be in order to fulfill all righteousness.
They really don't do much, but they create a lot of "Do-Gooder," disciples.
You know,
1. Come to church every Sunday.
2. Find a seat where you will be comfortable, so as not to distract from the preacher’s message.
3. Make sure that when you interpret the message you are imagining Jesus as a tepid soul who goes out of his way to not step on dandelions.
4. Always bring your tithes, every Sunday and if you have one of those hidden spaces within your wallet bring a backup “tithe,’ less there is predicted a soon expected Hurricane toward the following week.
5. Never display any kind of emotion, rebellion or disdain to crooked politicians or pastors who steal from those whom they are given authority over.
6. And although there are basically just the one or two hundred sermons repetitively taught every Sunday, always act as if you have received “new revelation.”
Well, I could go on, but I just wanted to point out these traits that I have witnessed from so many religious teachers.
You know, “The Do-Gooder sermons.”

Anyway, what I especially wanted to point out was that it looks to me as if the congregation has doubled in just the seven or eight weeks that he has been teaching on “Spiritual Matters,” concerning the Holy Spirit.
Well, that was until today.
And although the congregation looked as if it had doubled the man began and finished with a “Do Gooder,” sermon instead of a Holy Ghost on fire sermon which apparently his congregation was liking?
Well, I couldn’t understand that as I ask “Google,” if this was a special day at “Thomas Road Baptist Church.”
"Why so many people?"
"No, just a normal Sunday," I was told.
So, I guess all that I want to say is “Hey don’t lose the ‘Mojo’ or the ‘Swagger,” man, we don’t want to go back to the “Do-Gooder jive mister!"
